Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-04
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Alocasia ("Alocasia", "we", "us") and govern your access to and use of the Alocasia apps (iOS, macOS, and web) and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. The Service
Alocasia is a productivity app for tasks, projects, trips, flashcards, notes, and personal finance. You can use it entirely on your own device without an account, in which case your data stays on that device. Signing in enables cross-device sync via our backend provider and subscription management.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the Service without notice or liability.
3. Your account
- Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account.
- Accuracy. You agree to provide accurate account information (an email address) and to keep it current.
- Security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
- One person per account. Accounts are for individual use unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
The Service's features are available at no charge. An optional Alocasia Pro subscription unlocks cross-device sync and a larger cloud storage allowance (free accounts include 500 MB; Pro includes 15 GB). Current plans and prices are shown at the point of purchase.
- Payment processors. Purchases are handled by Apple (for App Store purchases) or Stripe (for web purchases), and reconciled through RevenueCat. We never receive or store your payment-card details.
- Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings or via the billing portal linked in the app.
- Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not prorated. App Store purchases are subject to Apple's refund policies; web purchases are subject to our and Stripe's applicable policies.
- Price and plan changes. We may change prices or plan contents; changes apply to renewals after we give reasonable notice.
- Downgrades and cancellation. If your subscription lapses and your stored content exceeds the free storage allowance, sync of new uploads may be paused until you are within the limit; your existing content remains accessible and is not deleted by us for being over the limit.
5. Your content
You retain all rights to the content you create in the Service — your tasks, projects, notes, attachments, trip data, flashcards, and finance records ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of it.
You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, transmit, back up, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you (for example, syncing it between your devices and serving your attachments). This license exists only for as long as we host Your Content and ends when you delete it or close your account, except for residual copies in routine backups for a limited period.
You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights necessary to store and share it through the Service.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to help others:
- use the Service to store or share content that is unlawful, infringing, or that violates others' rights;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours, or circumvent security, storage limits, or usage controls;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service, or use it to build a competing product from our data;
- upload malware or use the Service to distribute spam or conduct fraud;
- resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe harms the Service or other users.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including Supabase (backend and authentication), RevenueCat, Apple, and Stripe (subscriptions and payments), and Cloudflare R2 (file storage). Your use of the Service through these providers is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability may affect the Service.
8. Intellectual property
The Service itself — its software, design, branding, and the name "Alocasia" — is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or to copy or modify the Service, except as expressly permitted.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. You can export or delete Your Content from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (for example, ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that it will meet your requirements.
Alocasia is a productivity tool. It is not professional financial, legal, medical, or tax advice, and you are responsible for your own decisions and for keeping your own copies of important data.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alocasia and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Alocasia is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts located there will have jurisdiction over disputes, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the in-app About section and a new "Last updated" date here. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
